The Team

Tony, John and Phil were key members of the technical team that built Sitescope's Homecheck service, which spearheaded a revolution in the UK property market. The government and other property information services have been quick to emulate its innovative approach to web-based delivery of conveyancing information.

Tony Lavelle BSc MSc MBA MBCS CITP Tony used to make maps of jungles, deserts and swamps for development projects. After an MBA at Cranfield he founded Hyrax in 1984 with his wife Choi. The idea for Selector was developed to find consultants for multi-disciplinary teams for international projects. Though Hyrax built systems for industries from education to pharmaceuticals, Selector became the Hyrax flagship. Selector went through many reincarnations keeping pace with developments in computer and database technology. Tony was Technical Director at Sitescope Ltd until 2003. He is a keen sailor.
John Rees John is a very experienced database developer and has built many of the Hyrax systems. He has worked for Direct Line, Reuters, Roche and other blue-chip companies. John was Project Manager at Sitescope Ltd.
Phil Johnson Phil has designed and built web sites of all styles, shapes and sizes, including sites for Sitescope, Homecheck, Business Link and the DTI. He combines his artistic training with practical experience and an in depth knowledge of all aspects of the project life cycle to build highly usable sites. He also has a keen interest in filming and editing videos and playing and listening to music.
