Microsoft .NET	Robust, efficient, functionally rich. Selector 6 is being developed under Microsoft's Empower Programme for Independent Software Vendors.
Web Technology	Users only need Internet Explorer 5 or later. No special software to install and support. Most processing takes place on the web server using ASP.NET (requires Microsoft Windows 2000 or later).
Security	Users cannot connect directly to the database. All database connections take place at the web server. For additional security, Secure Socket Layer (HTTPS) protocol is supported.
Microsoft SQL Server	The industry standard. The database design is open, allowing you to build your own reports and integrate with other applications.
Flexible	Selector is data-driven, allowing you define your own categories, skills etc.
Geographically-enabled	UK postcodes are used to obtain a grid reference [US Zip codes give lat/long] of people, organisations and assignements so Selector can select candidates by distance in miles or km from a client or assignment. Selector uses PostcodeAnywhere, a web service, so you do not need to maintain your own postal data.
